Recap: The Golden Knights returned to Las Vegas for a three-game set beginning with the Calgary Flames. On Vegas’s first shot of the game, Brett Howden scored to make it 1-0. Calgary scored a shorthanded goal midway through the second period, but Braeden Bowman got it back :48 later. Vegas took a 3-1 advantage into the 2nd intermission.
Captain Mark Stone recorded a natural hat trick in the 3rd period, VGK’s first hatty of the year.
The Golden Knights’ record improves to 7-2-0, defeating the Flames 6-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Next up, Vegas will host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. Puck drop against the Penguins is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: This was a game where the goal was to simply take care of business. VGK did not exactly play a great game, or really anything close to it, but they didn’t have to, especially after taking the early 2-0 lead. It’s another fairly easy comfortable win against a pretty dreadful opponent. (Analysis by Ken)

First hat trick of the season is a natural by Mark Stone here in this 3rd period!
It’s the 30th in VGK history and Stone’s 4th.
(A few of those are notable ones in the playoffs.)

Little tic-tac-toe action from Karlsson to Barbashev to Bowman and the puck breaks off of Wolf and in.

Let the BumSlaying commence!
Marner picks a Flame pocket in the neutral zone, hits a diagonal pass to Howden, and he zips one to the corner.
1-0 VGK and this game should be just about over.
