The Philadelphia Flyers have made some roster moves ahead of their Monday matchup with the Colorado Avalanche.

On Sunday, the Flyers placed defenseman Cam York on injured reserve with an upper-body injury retroactive to October 8th, while also loaning forward Jack Studnicka and defenseman Helge Grans back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Grans registered no points in his one NHL game this season. Studnicka has played in 3 games this season for the Flyers as the 4C. He also did not register a point during his time with the Flyers.

That opened up three roster spots for the Flyers. Following the moves on Sunday, the team only filled one of those spots, recalling defenseman Hunter McDonald to the team. McDonald has played in one career NHL game, the season finale last season against the Montreal Canadiens, where he registered an assist.

McDonald is a big, physical blueliner who had a pretty strong training camp. However, it was really down to Simon Benoit, David Jiricek, and Oliver Bonk, and McDonald never really had a chance despite his strong camp.

Now, he got his call-up.

That still left the Flyers with two roster spots open. They filled those on Monday morning.

With the status of Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster, and Sean Couturier still in question, the Flyers have recalled forwards Alex Bump and Cole Knuble from the Phantoms.

Bump made the team out of training camp, but was sent down after the very slow start. But Bump has been on a tear in Lehigh Valley, scoring 7 goals in 5 games while also adding an assist.

Filling the final spot is Cole Knuble, son of former Flyer Mike Knuble. Knuble had an excellent camp, practically putting him on roster watch, and was, in all fairness, deserving of a roster spot. However, he started his year in the AHL, where he has scored a goal and 3 assists in 6 games.

Now, Knuble has got his much-deserved call-up to the NHL. If he is in the lineup on Monday, Knuble will be making his Flyers and NHL debut.

The Flyers take on the Avalanche on Monday at 7:00 PM ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
