The Blackhawks unveiled a green Hometown Remix jersey Monday. Here’s the design, the six games they’ll wear it, the price and where to buy.
It’s green. The Chicago Blackhawks unveiled their Hometown Remix uniform Monday, and the color fans have worn in the stands for years is finally headed for the ice. The debut is tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at the United Center, with puck drop at 7 p.m. CT.
The look is part of a league-wide program from the NHL and Fanatics, with all 32 teams getting a new special edition uniform. The league says 261 games this season will feature a team in its Hometown Remix set.

The design
The jersey puts the current Blackhawks logo on a vivid green base with gold shoulder patches. Each sleeve carries four debossed six-pointed stars, a nod to the Chicago flag. The theme is progress, and the team ties it to the “I Will the Spirit of Chicago” motto, which first went on the home jersey 50 years ago. That motto is stitched inside the hem.
There are more throwbacks in the details: a lace-up collar inspired by Blackhawks sweaters of the 1960s and sleeve striping that nods to the 1961 Stanley Cup team, the team said.

That 1961 link is the heart of the story. “What stood out was a unique connection from 1961, when the Blackhawks captured the Stanley Cup the same year Chicago plumbers discovered the process that would become the city’s annual tradition of dyeing the Chicago River green every St. Patrick’s Day,” Jerry Ferguson, the Blackhawks’ executive vice president of brand and marketing, said in the release.
When the Blackhawks will wear it
The Hawks will wear the green six times in 2026-27:
Monday, Nov. 2 vs. Colorado Avalanche
Tuesday, Dec. 29 vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Monday, March 8 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Wednesday, March 10 vs. Washington Capitals
Sunday, March 14 vs. Anaheim Ducks
Tuesday, March 16 vs. San Jose Sharks
Price and where to buy
The collection went on sale Monday. On the team’s CBH Shop, the blank Premium jersey is $225, and the on-ice Authentic Pro version is $525. Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar Premium jerseys are $305, and youth jerseys run $120 blank or $170 for Bedard and Nazar. The line also includes hoodies, tees, fleece, outerwear, and hats.
Locally, the gear is at CBHShop.com, the Blackhawks Store on Michigan Avenue, and the Madhouse Team Store at the United Center. It is also sold on NHLShop.com, NHLShop.ca, Fanatics.com and at the NHL Shop NYC flagship. Prices can vary by retailer.
The reaction
Not everyone is sold. Early reviews have been rough, with critics saying it looks a lot like the green St. Patrick’s Day jerseys Chicago fans have owned for years, and calling the design “lazy”.
That was the hope for plenty of people, though, including myself. Personally, as someone who regrets not buying a St. Patrick’s Day jersey a few years ago, I don’t mind; I think they look better than the old warm-up green jerseys, and I’ll likely try to get my hands on one at some point. When Fanatics teased a green Hawks jersey last month, the Shamrock crowd was all in. Tonight they wear it in a game that counts.
