After winning the first game 4-3 in overtime, they dropped Game 2 5-4 in double overtime and were blown out in Sunrise for Game 3, 6-1.
While Edmonton’s star-studded duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have shown up all playoffs looking to avenge last season’s heartbreaking Game 7 Stanley Cup Final loss, they both failed to get on the score sheet in Game 3.
That will need to change in Game 4 on Thursday if the Oilers want to even up the series. In 19 playoff games this season, McDavid has six goals, 25 points and 31 assists, while Draisaitl has 10 goals, 19 assists and 29 points.

On Wednesday, McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, took to social media to send a message to Draisaitl’s fiancée, Celeste Desjardins.

“The best 72 hours celebrating our girl Celeste Desjardins in Mykonos!! 💙🤍🇬🇷 Can’t love you more!! Let’s get you married!!” Kyle wrote.
Kyle and Desjardins have been overseas for the last few playoff games, celebrating Desjardins’ bachelorette party. The two are especially close, with McDavid and Draisaitl having a strong relationship of their own.
The Oilers drafted the two stars with the team’s first-round picks in 2014 and 2015 and have been an inseparable duo ever since. Between them, they’ve won four Hart Memorial Trophies—with a possible fifth on the way this season, as Draisaitl is a finalist.

Draisaitl and Desjardins have been together since 2018 and got engaged in July 2024. With their wedding coming up, Draisaitl could soon be adding two rings to his collection.
