Oilers Reveal Massive Goalie Decision For Stanley Cup Final Game 4 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Edmonton Oilers are facing a 2-1 series deficit to the Florida Panthers in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton was run off the ice in Game 3, and now will be playing Game 4 on the road, looking to avoid going down 3-1.

But heading into the game, Edmonton was considering a big change at the goalie position. After a poor game from goalie Stuart Skinner, there was talk about the Oilers that a chance to backup Calvin Pickard could be made.
However, it seems that Edmonton will not be making a change in net, at least not yet. The Oilers will be playing Skinner for the crucial Game 4 contest, with Pickard being the backup once again.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported the news on social media.
Pickard has been stellar during the postseason this year, going 6-0 with a 2.87 GAA and an .888 save percentage. The veteran was on a roll until he suffered an injury in the second round of the postseason, putting Skinner back in the net.

Since then, Skinner has been fairly dominant for the Oilers until this series against the Panthers. Skinner has allowed 13 goals through the first three games of the series, holding a 3.74 goals-against average and .866 save percentage.
Skinner was pulled from Game 3 after allowing five goals on 23 shot attempts. But it seems that Edmonton is riding with him for this crucial contest.

The Panthers will be looking to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Oilers, while Edmonton will be looking to tie the series up. Game 4 between the two sides is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday.
