The Dallas Stars and Jim Nill announced on Monday that the team has re-signed backup goaltender Remi Poirier.
A sixth-round draft pick of Dallas in 2020, Poirier will return to the Stars on a two-year, two-way contract that begins in the 2025-26 season and runs through the 2026-27 season.

Poirier is yet to make his NHL debut. The 23-year-old posted a 17-11-2 record with a .908 save percentage, 2.50 goals-against average and three shutouts in 31 games played with the Texas Stars in the AHL this season. He appeared in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games, notching a 5-3 record with a .919 save percentage and a 2.19 goals-against average en route to helping the Stars reach the AHL’s Western Conference Final.
The Garnham, Quebec native is likely the third goalie on the organizational depth chart behind No. 1 Jake Oettinger and backup Casey DeSmith.
