A hockey player from Akwesasne has been traded to the New York Rangers.
20-year-old Carey Terrance was born and raised in Akwesasne. He’s played for the Erie Otters in the OHL junior league for the past four seasons and led the team in goals.
Terrance then moved to the NHL, signing with the California-based Anaheim Ducks.
But the New York Rangers announced last week that they’ve acquired Terrance from the Ducks in exchange for Chris Kreider, who played with the Rangers for 13 seasons.
That means Terrance will soon be playing a little closer to home in Akwesasne.Â
