The Florida Panthers are one win away from capturing a second straight Stanely Cup, as they look to finish off the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 on Tuesday night.

This year’s final has been a lot more back and forth than the 2024 edition of the Panthers against the Oilers. However, the situation has turned out the same, with Florida being the first team with a chance take home Lord Stanley’s Cup.

After the teams split games in both Edmonton and Sunrise, the Panthers put together another solid effort in Game 5 this past Saturday night. However, unlike the previous game in Edmonton, the defending champions did not blow a 3-0 lead, this time hanging on for a 5-2 victory.

Now, in their return home, where they clinched the Stanley Cup in Game 7 last season, the Panthers are trying to become the first team in four years to win back-to-back championships, as their in-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning, accomplished the feat in 2020 and 2021. Florida would also become just the third team in the salary cap era to win consecutive Cups.
