The Edmonton Oilers take on the Florida Panthers in Game 6 of this best-of-7 Stanley Cup Final Tuesday. Puck drop from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida., is set for 8 p.m. ET (TNT / truTV / Max). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Oilers vs. Panthers odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Series: Panthers lead 3-2

Florida took Game 5 in Edmonton Saturday 5-2, cashing as slight -102 underdog with the Over (6.5) hitting.

The Oilers fell behind 2-0 early in the first period and just couldn’t recover. C Connor McDavid scored his first goal in the series, but they went 0-for-3 on the power play and had just 21 shots on goal — by far their fewest in the series. McDavid hasn’t been terrible in this series — he has 7 assists, 1 fewer point than C Leon Draisaitl, but Draisaitl has been a difference maker (4 goals, 4 assists). McDavid has not, and the people that follow the sport are starting to talk.

Panthers LW Brad Marchand had 2 goals in Game 5, giving him 6 in the series. He has 1 fewer point than McDavid, but the impacts aren’t even comparable. C Sam Bennett (-145) is still the favorite for the Conn Smythe, but Marchand (+245) has certainly made it interesting with 10 goals and 10 assists this postseason. Bennett has 15 goals and 7 assists in the playoffs, including 5 goals and an assist in the Cup Final.

Pickard struggled in Game 5, stopping 14 of 18 overall. He failed to stop both of the 2 high-danger chances at 5-on-5, and he allowed all 4 goals against at 5-on-5, stopping 11 of 15. He has stopped 43 of 49 shots fired his way in this series for a .878 SV%, playing in 3 games.

Bob stopped 19 of 21 overall in Game 5. He saw 1 high-danger chance in Game 5 at 5-on-5, and it went in his net. He stopped 12 of 13 overall at 5-on-5. He remains the top goalie in the playoffs with 11.1 goals saved above expected.

Oilers at Panthers picks and predictionsPrediction

Oilers 4, Panthers 3

I mentioned that McDavid hasn’t been terrible, but he just scored his first goal in the series, and people are starting to chirp. So, that’s what I’m basing this take on. I expect a monstrous effort from McDavid to force a Game 7 Friday in Canada. The Panthers do not fear a Game 7 in Edmonton.

Look for the Oilers to unleash it all. Give me EDMONTON (+135).

Give me CONNOR MCDAVID ANYTIME GOAL (+145). He can’t go out with a whimper. He’s under contract for one more season with this team, and it’s a team that has significant cap and roster questions coming up.

The Over has cashed in every game of this series and in 9 of 10 meetings overall. I don’t like doing Over 6.5’s, but Edmonton’s side gives me no confidence they can keep it under 3.

Give me OVER 6.5 (-102).
