After a breakout year, Ryan Donato is cashing in with Chicago.
The Blackhawks have re-signed Donato to a four-year, $16 million deal (AAV of $4 million). The 29-year-old winger delivered easily the best season of his career with Chicago in 2024-25, scoring 31 goals and adding 31 assists skating alongside Connor Bedard.

A Bruins second-round pick in 2014, Donato spent his first two NHL seasons in Boston before he was dealt to the Minnesota Wild along with a conditional fifth-round pick for Charlie Coyle in 2019.
The Scituate native has bounced around since then, also playing for the San Jose Sharks (2020-21) and Seattle Kraken (2021-23) before landing in Chicago (2023-2025). With a new four-year deal in hand, Donato should have some stability moving forward.
The $16 million total value is easily the biggest contract of Donato’s career, as he’d never eclipsed a $4 million deal before this.
