Some surprising Stanley Cup odds have been released for the Vancouver Canucks for the 2025-26 NHL season, as the team searches for their first championship in franchise history.
While the season might have just ended, it’s never too early to look ahead to the 2025-26 campaign, one that Vancouver Canucks fans are hoping will be successful after missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
Early Stanley Cup odds released for the 2025-26 NHL season
We’re about to enter the busiest period of the National Hockey League’s calendar over the next four weeks and it might seem a bit early, especially considering teams haven’t even made their offseason additions just yet, FanDuel Sportsbook have released their Stanley Cup odds for the 2025-26 season.
The Carolina Hurricanes are at the top right now with +700 odds, with the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers (+750), Edmonton Oilers (+750), Dallas Stars (+850) and Colorado Avalanche (+850) rounding out the top five.
Meanwhile the bottom-five consists of the San Jose Sharks (T-32nd at +50000), Chicago Blackhawks (T-32nd at +50000), Seattle Kraken (30th at +31000), Pittsburgh Penguins (29th at +28000) and the Buffalo Sabres (28th at +14000).
As for the Vancouver Canucks, they come in at 18th on FanDuel’s Stanley Cup odds at +5000, ahead of teams such as the Calgary Flames, Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, among others.
“#Canucks are 18th in the Stanley Cup odds for next season per FanDuel.
They’re currently 50/1.” Noah Strang said on X.
18th in the Stanley Cup odds for the 2025-26 season might come as a surprise to many fans as the organization has a lot of work to do in order to become a contender.
If the Vancouver Canucks end up being aggressive this summer, something Jim Rutherford wants to see, then perhaps we could see those Stanley Cup odds climb leading up to the start of the season, but it’ll depend on the moves they make and if they’re able to address two areas of need – a top-six winger and a second line centerman.
