1. Dallas Stars re-sign Matt Duchene to a 4-year, $18 million contract
The Dallas Stars have re-signed forward Matt Duchene to a four-year contract worth $18 million.
General Manager Jim Nill announced the deal Thursday. Duchene will count $4.5 million against the salary cap through the 2028-29 season.
2. Travis County judge blocks AG Ken Paxton’s rule to access ‘rogue DA’ criminal files
A Travis County judge temporarily blocked a ruling from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to force some district attorneys to turn over case records.
A new rule mandates that prosecutors in counties of 400,000 or more people send active and closed case files to an oversight committee controlled by the Attorney General’s Office on a regular basis.

The San Antonio Missions hosted a “Take Meowt to the Ballgame” event, which invited people to bring their cats along with them to enjoy America’s favorite pastime.
