June 24 marks a special anniversary in the history of the New Jersey Devils and for sports in the Garden State.

The date marks the 30th anniversary of the first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history for the Devils in 1995.

New Jersey, despite being a heavy underdog, swept the juggernaut Detroit Red Wings in a landmark moment for hockey throughout the state. It would start a dynastic run for the Devils, who would go on to win Cups in 2000 and 2003.
