COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced a seven-game slate of preseason games ahead of the team’s 25th Anniversary season.

Columbus will begin the preseason on Sunday, September 21st, against the St. Louis Blues at Nationwide Arena. The team will then host the Buffalo Sabres on Monday, September 22nd, before traveling to Buffalo for a game the next night. The Blue Jackets will then return home the next night, September 24th, for a game against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins.

After a short break, the CBJ travels to Pittsburgh for a game on September 27th. The team then returns home to host the Washington Capitals on September 30th and will close out the preseason at Washington on October 4th.

The 2025–26 NHL regular is scheduled to begin on October 7, 2025, in Europe as part of the NHL Global Series. Games in North America will begin on October 8th.

A mid-season break will take place in February due to the NHL’s participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
