Tuesday was a much slower day for the Flyers after Monday sent everyone into a frenzy.
Not much news surrounding the team squeaked out. The 2025 NHL Draft is now just three days away, which means by this time Friday, I’ll be heading up to Atlantic City for the Philadelphia Flyers’ draft night.
Speaking of that frenzy from Monday, the dust has finally settled, and we seemingly know a bit more about Trevor Zegras. The team’s preseason schedule was released as well.
Around the league, it was a busy day on Long Island, and it definitely won’t be the last this week. The Penguins were given some great news, oh, and the Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025 was announced.
Philadelphia Flyers
Philly Hockey Now: Trevor Zegras, a name that needs no introduction. However, after a turbulent two years, his play might need an introduction. So, get to know your newest Flyer, and just what Philly is getting with Trevor Zegras.
Philly Hockey Now: Oh, in other Flyers news, the team’s preseason schedule was released yesterday. Find out who, where, and when the Flyers will be playing their seven preseason matchups.
NHL Rumors and News
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pittsburgh Penguins will now be making two picks, back-to-back, in Friday’s first round of the NHL Draft. That’s right, the New York Rangers decided to waive their protection and send the 12th overall pick to the Penguins to complete the J.T. Miller trade. The Penguins will now be picking back-to-back, 11 and 12, this Friday. Dan Kingerski has the full story for Pittsburgh Hockey Now.
Part of me thought that the teams picking in the 8-12 range would pass on Roger McQueen, not due to injury concern, but rather because of better players being available or a clear need for defenders. However, to me, unless someone takes a top-8 swing on McQueen, he has Pittsburgh written all over him.
Islanders Hockey Now: It was quite the busy day on Long Island yesterday. Pre-draft availability, Hockey Hall of Fame inductions, and a big retirement. Luckily, we have Russ Macias over at Islanders Hockey Now to break everything down for us.
TSN: The Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025 was announced on Tuesday, with Alexander Mogilny, Joe Thornton, Duncan Keith, and Zdeno Chara highlighting the new inductees.
