
A look inside Chef David Burke’s third Red Horse restaurant at former Bernards Inn
Opening its doors at 5 p.m. each day, the Red Horse follows the ambiance of two other Red Horse locations in Rumson and White Plains, New York.
Among the inductees: Martin Brodeur, former ice hockey goaltender and current team executive for the New Jersey Devils.Also among the inductees is Mary Alice Williams, Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, a founding anchor of CNN, and former anchor for NJTV News.
Seventeen people from the worlds of music, hospitality, public service, sports, and visual and performing arts have been chosen as this year’s New Jersey Hall of Fame inductees.
“This year’s class … reminds us of what it means to be Jersey strong and resilient,” said Steve Edwards, Hall of Fame president, in a news release. “They showcase the incredible range of talent that has come out of New Jersey, from global icons in entertainment to pioneers in sports, public service, and enterprise.”
According to the New Jersey Hall of Fame’s website, the organization “honors the Garden State’s most distinguished citizens for their lasting contributions to society.”
Honorees must be or have been a New Jersey resident or have worked in New Jersey for a minimum of five years.
This year’s inductees, who join more than 240 people and groups that have been inducted since 2008, were chosen from 60 nominees after a public vote.
They will be honored this fall at the 17th annual New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, taking place Friday, Nov. 21, at American Dream in East Rutherford, home to the Hall of Fame’s headquarters.
“As we approach the first anniversary of our permanent home at American Dream, this incoming class reflects the very best of New Jersey’s talent, grit and influence,” said Jon F. Hanson, chairman of the New Jersey Hall of Fame, in a news release. “These inductees have made an extraordinary impact in their respective fields and continue to inspire generations.”
