LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — One of the Original Misfits is sticking around for his second stint in Vegas.
Pending free agent Reilly Smith will stay with the Golden Knights after signing a one-year, $2 million deal, per multiple reports.
Half of that will be paid as a signing bonus, according to PuckPedia, and Smith, 34, will receive a full no-trade clause.
The Golden Knights first acquired Smith in an expansion draft trade with Florida in 2017, making him part of the team’s inaugural roster.

Smith played six seasons in Vegas and won a Stanley Cup championship with the team in 2023. He was later traded in the 2023 offseason to Pittsburgh, and the Penguins traded him last year to the New York Rangers.
New York sent Smith back to Vegas this past March in exchange for Brendan Brisson and a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
In his second go-around with the Golden Knights, Smith appeared in 21 regular-season games and tallied three goals and 11 assists.
He had three goals and one assist in 11 postseason games.
