The excellent Marco D’Amico just dropped a very interesting little scoop involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He just announced the first preseason game for the Habs!
“The Montreal Canadiens will host what is likely to be their first pre-season game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on September 22nd.
Full schedule expected to be released shortly.”
– Marco D’Amico
Alright, it’s obviously not happening tomorrow, but it definitely gets us excited for the season to start!
Watching young players like Ivan Demidov over a full season is sure to be exciting-and at times, spectacular.First Preseason Game Announced for the Montreal Canadiens, and It’ll Be Against the Pittsburgh Penguins (and Sidney Crosby?)
Also worth noting: the full official schedule for the Montreal Canadiens’ 2025-26 regular season should be released in about two or three weeks.
Will there be new faces in the lineup for that September 22 game?
We’ll probably get the answer this week, since most major summer trades usually happen around the draft-especially this year, as free agency opens just a few hours after the 2025 draft ends.
The coming days are shaping up to be very entertaining!
Among the players we’re most excited to watch this fall are, of course, Ivan Demidov, Florian Xhekaj, and several others-potentially including the 16th and 17th overall picks from this Friday.
