Several NHL teams are currently trying to trade some of their players to clear salary cap space.

To make this happen, Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon will need to part ways with players earning significant salaries, and a proposed trade involving the Montreal Canadiens has just surfaced on social media.

Major Trade Offer Between the Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights Involving Kirby Dach, Proposed by RDS

Via its Instagram account, the television network RDS proposed a major trade offer involving multiple pieces:

Bringing in William Karlsson to the Canadiens would be a solid acquisition, as he could serve as a temporary solution at the second-line center position.

He is still under contract for two more seasons at an annual salary of $5.9 million, and with the Golden Knights’ depth, the Swedish forward might no longer have a spot in the lineup.

As for Alexander Holtz, it appears his career has yet to take off-even with a change of scenery.

He recorded only 12 points in 56 games with Vegas after a promising season of 16 goals and 28 points with the New Jersey Devils in 2023-2024.

That said, he’s still only 23 years old and could break out at any moment-or at least that’s the hope if a team decides to take a chance on him.
