DETROIT. (WILX) – The Detroit Red Wings held the 13th selection in the 2025 NHL Draft and used it on Carter Bear, an 18-year-old forward from Winnipeg, Canada.
Bear has played the past three seasons for the Everett Silvertips of Canada’s Western Hockey League. Bear tallied 40 goals and 42 assists over 56 games for Everett last season.

Bear is recovering from a lacerated Achilles tendon that he suffered during a game in March.
