ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals took the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, selecting winger Lynden Lakvoic on Friday.

Lakovic is coming off a strong third year in the WHL, where he put up 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points in 47 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors, while only having just four penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound winger is an impressive playmaker who makes great passes and works wonders with the puck, and he also has a very powerful shot. Lakovic is also the nephew of longtime NHLer Sasha Lakovic.

He’s a versatile player who plays multiple roles, and he ranked 14th among all North American skaters. Lakovic can also play on either wing.

With Lakovic, Washington gets another big winger and playmaker to add to the mix while continuing to bolster the wing.
