The Washington Capitals finished out their 2025 NHL Draft class with two solid picks, taking in the sixth round.
Washington took Crowder, a product of the USHL, at 155. The 6-foot-3 center is a force to be reckoned with and a strong, responsible two-way checking center. He doesn’t shy away from battling for the puck and goes hard on the forecheck, and he gets to the high-danger areas around the net to make plays.

After putting up just 10 points through the first 31 games of the USHL campaign wiht the Sioux City Musketeers, Crowder benefitted from a change in scenery, picking up six goals and eight assists for 14 points in the final 25 games of the year with the Chicago Steel.
After picking up only forwards, the Capitals brighout in another strong defenseman in Aron Dahlqvist at No. 180.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound blueliner is a stay-at-home blueliner who punishes his opponents with big hits and dominant defensive play. He loves to make noise and is also a key penalty killer.
Dahlqvist made the jump to the SHL this past season and played 16 games against grown men after developing with the junior teams and having 12 points in 37 games with the J20 team.
Washington’s full draft class includes Lynden Lakovic (No. 27), Milton Gästrin (No. 37), Maxim Shäfer (No. 96), Jackson Crowder (No. 155) and Aron Dahlqvist (No. 180).
