A Rhode Island native heard his name called in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Everett Baldwin, a native of Rumford who recently graduated from St. George’s School, was drafted in the fifth round (151st overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Baldwin, a defenseman, scored 63 points (18 goals, 45 assists) over a stretch of three seasons with St. George’s.

He played five games with the United States National Team Development Program this past year, and also suited up in two games with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League.

Committed to play college hockey at Providence College, Baldwin ranked 118th among all draft-eligible North American skaters heading into the draft.
