The Nashville Predators have selected defenseman Jacob Rombach with the No. 35 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Rombach, 18, just finished his second season with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and is committed to the University of Minnesota for 2025-26. A 6-foot-6, 209 pound left-handed defenseman, Rombach had three goals and 15 assists for the Stars last season.

Rombach’s standout attributes are his size and defensive feel for the game. Most scouts think he has the tools to develop into a shutdown defenseman at the NHL level. Skating and offensive creation are his weaknesses.

Rombach is the fourth player drafted by the Predators in the 2025 NHL Draft, joining Brady Martin (No. 5), Cameron Reid (No. 21) and Ryker Lee (No. 26).

The Predators have four more selections in the draft, at No. 55 (Rd. 2), No. 131 (Rd. 5), No. 163 (Rd. 6), and No. 182 (Rd. 6).
