
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Detroit Red Wings have added winger Mason Appleton to their roster in a two-year deal worth an average annual value of $2.9 million.
Appleton adds some size to the Red Wings’ bottom-six. He played with Michigan State for two seasons from 2015-17 before signing with the Winnipeg Jets, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft. He scored 31 points during the 2016-17 season.

The 29-year-old has averaged just under 20 points per season in seven NHL seasons.
