For several years now, defenseman Sean Durzi‘s name has been linked to the Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens’ management loves acquiring players who already have a strong connection with key members of the team.
Florian Xhekaj is obviously Arber’s younger brother, Filip Mesar is Juraj Slafkovsky‘s best friend, and Alexander Zharovsky is a childhood friend of Ivan Demidov.
We’ve given three examples, but there are many others.
What if the Montreal Canadiens acquired Nick Suzuki‘s best friend?
For years, it’s been known that Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki’s best friend is defenseman Sean Durzi, who currently plays for the Utah Mammoth.
Knowing that, I’d be curious to see if it’s caught Kent Hughes’ attention.
Why curious? Isn’t it perfectly normal to post a picture with a friend on social media?
Well, it’s just interesting to note that Durzi is the only player (who’s not a Canadiens player) to appear in Suzuki’s social media photos.
The two best friends are currently south of the border.

In any case, don’t be surprised if Durzi eventually lands with the Montreal Canadiens.
Sean Durzi, 26 years old, is a right-shot defenseman who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 196 pounds.
He has a solid 117 points in 242 career NHL games, including 25 goals, and he posted a positive plus-minus of +4 this past season.
His best season came in 2023-24, during which he recorded 41 points in 76 games.
It’s a name for Habs fans to keep in mind!
He’s earning $6 million per year through 2028.
