The Bruins issued a statement where they acknowledged his role in the team’s 1988 and 1990 trips to the Stanley Cup Final, as well as his radio career.

A son of Nipawan, Saskatchewan, Lyndon became a true Bostonian and we will miss him dearly,” the statement said in part. “He is forever a part of our Bruins family. Our thoughts are with his wife, Annie, and son, Will, during this very difficult time.”

Many things have been written about Lyndon Byers today and they’ve all made me think about what a good guy he was. Whether it was a talk about life after our show @weei, or just a ride in the elevator at 5 AM, he always made me laugh. A true Mensch who won’t be forgotten.

My heart is 💔 #LyndonByers passed away yesterday 7/4/2025. It was not only an amazing hockey player yay he was an outstanding human being and showed up for kids and adults living with disabilities. May his memory be for a blessing. #bruins pic.twitter.com/qDxgoyvkkm

RIP: Lyndon Byers, 61.
Fun guy in room, around media, etc. Made most of his goods. Ever willing to battle. Always smiling.
Could be wrong…might have been last NHLer to serve 10-game supsension for leaving bench to join on-ice kerfuffle (by memory here , on vaca).
