The 2024 NHL Entry Draft was held at the Sphere in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Over 200 players had their dreams come true after being selected across the seven-round event. For the fourth time in the last six years, a high school hockey player from New Jersey was among them.
On Saturday, the Chicago Blackhawks selected John Mustard in the third round, 67th overall.
The winger, who was born in New Market, Ontario, played two seasons for Bergen Catholic between 2020 and 2022.
He scored three goals and three assists as a freshman and was teammates with Aram Minnetian, who was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round, 125th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Mustard broke out as a sophomore during the 2021-22 season. He buried 21 goals and 21 assists that winter, which was his last with the Crusaders and helped him earn Second Team All-State honors.

The 6′1″ winger is committed to play at Providence College for the 2025-26 season.
