If you’ve seen anything from Stars-Avs Game 3 online recently, odds are you’ve seen a specific video of head coach Pete DeBoer and left wing Mason Marchment.

The clip shows DeBoer on the Stars bench toward the end of the first period gesturing toward his players to stay calm. Then, Marchment enters the frame with a completely opposite energy.

On a Friday afternoon appearance on Sportsradio 96.7 FM/1310 The Ticket (KTCK-AM), DeBoer spoke about Marchment after the hosts asked him about the double-minor penalty the forward took at the end of regulation and the subsequent assist on the game winner in overtime.

“That’s Mush,” DeBoer said. “One shift you think he’s playing for the other team the next shift he’s winning you the game.”

Then, DeBoer, unprompted, brought up the viral video with Marchment.

“I’m trying to calm everybody down and get them re-focused and as hard as he is trying to listen to me, he just can’t help himself, but to go back one more time,” DeBoer said about the interaction. “It’s pretty much classic and I’d like to say that it’s a one-off, but that’s pretty much how that goes every day.”
