Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin Doubles Down on His Recent Eye-Opening Comments About Elias Pe

Now that the rumors about trading star forward have subsided, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin doubled down on the comments he made previously regarding Elias Pettersson.Going back to the start of the 2024-25 NHL season, Elias Pettersson has been at the center of all the things going wrong with the Vancouver Canucks, most notably his high profiled drama with former Canucks teammate J.T. Miller.Through all the noise, it appeared that even after they shipped Miller off to the New York Rangers, there was still rumblings of trade rumors, but the CCanucks quickly put those rumors to rest, especially after his no-move clause kicked in on July 1st.The Vancouver Canucks are keeping center Elias Pettersson and the St. Louis Blues are sticking with right winger Jordan Kyrou, after each had clauses kick in at midnight on July 1.
Pettersson now has a full no-movement clause with Vancouver, which lasts until the final year of his eight-year, $92.8 million contract in 2032, with an average annual value of $11.6 million.

“There is very few players in the league they’re capable of doing what Petey can do… If we get Petey back to to the level what he’s capable of doing, I think that that he will drag the rest of the group with him there.” Allvin said.
After those comments were made, Allvin appeared on 100% Canucks Podcast, a Vancouver Canucks-focused show hosted by veteran broadcaster John Shannon and former NHLer Landon Ferraro to explain the team offseason moves.
He went on further to double down on his recent comments regarding Elias Pettersson, saying he is having a strong offseason and is back to being 100% healthy.

With all the drama, it encouraging to note that the 2025-26 season is going to start off on the right foot, which is only going to help Pettersson’s confidence, which is something that he needs.
