Ex-NHLer Delivers Pair of Emphatic Speeches Directed Towards the Maple Leafs

Avid Leafs supporter Paul Bissonnette delivered a pair of emphatic speeches to the Leafs with a warning to the Florida Panthers ahead of Round 2 on Monday.
Ahead of Game 6, before the Leafs closed out the ‘Battle of Ontario’, Paul “Biz Nasty” Bissonnette had some harsh words Mitch Marner, essentially commanding the forward to “dig in”.
Marner and the rest of the Leafs’ core heeded his message and closed out Round 1 on Thursday night with a gutsy effort, giving themselves an extra few days of rest before a battle with the Panthers commences.
Following the Leafs’ disposal of the Senators, Bissonnette gave an emphatic speech on air, crediting the Leafs and Craig Berube for moving on before issuing a warning to the Panthers.
“To Leafs Nation, incredible victory. Chief, great job putting Patches in. Great adjustments this series. Stolarz, incredible performance in net. The ‘Core 4’, now ‘Core 5’, we’ve graduated with the performance of Matthew Knies. We’re on to greener pastures. We’re on to conquer Goliath – the Florida Panthers. We’re coming for you. It’s not the year of the rats. It’s the year of the Maple Leafs.”
Shortly after, the former NHL enforcer shared another video to ‘X’ while backstage at the NHL on TNT studios, poking fun at the Senators and sending another warning shot to the Panthers.
“It’s been a minute since we’ve been in it, and now you’re gone. The Florida Panthers, we have unfinished business with you.”
Bissonnette had his ‘lucky’ yellow shirt and Leafs alumni jacket (that no one knows how he acquired) on for Game 6 and should have to wear it for each game of the series if he is as superstitious as almost everyone in Leafs Nation.
If not, well, Bissonnette will be joining the club of heartbroken Leafs fans gearing up for another lengthy off-season of what ifs.
