LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — What do you get when the Raiders and Golden Knights trade turf and ice for the baseball field? You get the Battle for Vegas Charity Softball Game at the Las Vegas Ballpark.
The sixth annual Battle for Vegas happens on Saturday, July 12, at 8 p.m. The proceeds benefit local nonprofits. The event is one of the valley’s most anticipated summer traditions.

James Sullivan, co-founder of the event, said fans can expect a Home Run Derby, flyover from the team at Nellis Air Force Base, and a dugout full of all-stars and post-game fireworks. He also points out that the teams take the game seriously.

“It’s kind of crazy because the first couple of innings of the game, you can tell they’re a little loose, they’re having fun, they’re out here enjoying the night. By the last two innings, the intensity is absolutely ramped up. Both teams definitely want to win.
Baseball legend Reggie “Mr. October” Jackson will be on hand to throw out the first pitch.
Also on the roster, Team Eichel (VGK), there will be Reilly Smith, Ryan Reaves, Logan Thompson, Deryk Engelland, and James Neal. Team Bowers (Raiders) will feature Raiders standouts like AJ Cole, Daniel Carlson, Aidan O’Connell, Tre Tucker, and more.
The annual game launched in 2019, and since then, Battle for Vegas has raised more than $1 million for local charities. This year’s beneficiaries include: Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, Make-A-Wish Nevada, Best Buddies, Assisting Lives in Las Vegas, and the Tyler Robinson Foundation.

After the final pitch, the Raiders, Golden Knights, and celebrity participants stay on the field to sign autographs and meet fans, making this a truly interactive experience.
