MEDICINE. ALL RIGHT, NOW TO SOMETHING NEW AT THE PITTSBURGH ZOO. SOME FEATHERED FRIENDS HAVE JOINED THE FLOCK. THAT’S RIGHT. THEY’RE SUPER CUTE. ALL RIGHT, HUMBOLDT PENGUINS AND BROWN PELICANS ARE SETTLING IN TO THE STEEL CITY AND ALREADY GREETING GUESTS. YOU WON’T FIND SIDNEY OR GINO HERE, BUT HOW ABOUT CREWS IN ORLANDO, PITTSBURGH’S NEWEST PENGUINS HAVE A NEW HOME IN THE FORMER SEA LION POOL AT THE PITTSBURGH ZOO. 13 OF THEM IN ALL. THE PENGUINS ACTUALLY CAME FROM THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. THE MAJORITY OF OUR ADULTS CAME FROM THE PHILLY ZOO. WE HAVE A FEW FROM WOODLAND PARK ZOO OUT IN SEATTLE, AND THEN OUR THREE FLEDGLINGS ACTUALLY CAME HERE AS EGGS FROM COLUMBUS ZOO. THEIR ROOMMATES ARE THESE GUYS BROWN PELICANS ORIGINALLY FROM FLORIDA AND ALREADY CURIOUS ABOUT THEIR NEW SURROUNDINGS. IT’S ACTUALLY THEIR SECOND DAY OFFICIALLY OUT HERE ON THE EXHIBIT, SO THEY’VE REALLY BEEN ENJOYING AND SEEING ALL THE PEOPLE. ONE THING YOU’LL NOTICE RIGHT AWAY IS THAT THESE GUYS AND GALS LOVE THE SUN. NO ICY ANTARCTIC FOR THEM BECAUSE THESE GUYS ARE TEMPERATE PENGUINS. THEY ARE NOT ANTARCTIC PENGUINS, SO THEY ARE ACTUALLY ADAPTED FOR THE WARMER WEATHER. AND BECAUSE THREE OF THEM CAME TO PITTSBURGH AS EGGS, ADAPTING HERE IS EASIER. THEY’RE ALSO A LOT BRAVER THAN OUR ADULTS AND A LOT OF RESPECT. SO WHENEVER THEY’RE MEETING PEOPLE, OR ESPECIALLY IF YOU SEE SOME LITTLE DARK GRAY BIRDS HANGING OUT BY THE WINDOW FOR YOU TO SEE, THAT IS MOST LIKELY OUR FLEDGLINGS. WELL, YOU CAN FIND THE PENGUINS AN
