It’s worrying because everyone hopes things go perfectly for young Demidov – but at the same time, it’s completely normal and understandable.

In an interview with a local media outlet, Konyushkov slipped and revealed that Demidov is currently feeling homesick.

Ivan Demidov Going Through a Tough Time and Missing His Home Country

Let me repeat – it’s 100% normal!

Let’s remember that Demidov suddenly and hastily left his country a few months ago to come finish the season with the Montreal Canadiens.

Demidov and his girlfriend then decided to spend the entire summer in Montreal without returning home.

“Naturally, moving to the other side of the world for months (with his girlfriend, but without the rest of his family) is a huge challenge for a young man learning to live in a new culture.”

We can’t wait for the NHL season to start! I’m certain that will help lift Demidov’s spirits a bit.

That said, don’t be surprised if – unlike this summer – Demidov decides to return home during the offseason next year. That would be totally fine as well.

Do you think Ivan Demidov made the right choice by spending the entire summer in Montreal, alone with his girlfriend?
