The player who was undoubtedly the
biggest surprise of the Montreal Canadiens’ season, Lane Hutson, continues to prepare in hopes of building on his momentum.
The only thing likely preventing Hutson from being a true elite defenseman in the National Hockey League right now is his size.
It’s also the one and only reason he slid all the way to 62nd overall in the 2022 Draft (to the Canadiens’ second-round pick).
However, if we remember correctly, around the time of the draft, it was also revealed that Hutson’s physical development was being affected by a rare condition, and that he would continue to grow for a little while longer.
Well, it seems that at 21 years old, Hutson still hasn’t finished growing or bulking up.
An Impressive New Photo of Lane Hutson Has Just Surfaced
As part of a Bauer Hockey photoshoot, Montreal Canadiens players Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Lane Hutson took a photo together.
Do you notice something special?
That’s right – it really looks like young Hutson has grown again and put on more size.
He now seems closer in height to Nick Suzuki (5-foot-11) than to Cole Caufield (5-foot-8).
We’re looking forward to seeing the official numbers at the next Canadiens training camp, but it truly seems like Lane Hutson has continued to grow – and that certainly can’t hurt.
At last update, Hutson was listed at 5-foot-9 and 162 pounds.
Last season, the 21-year-old defenseman recorded 66 points in 82 regular-season games, along with 5 points in 5 NHL playoff games.
