The Edmonton Oilers recently hired former Chatham Maroons goalie Peter Aubry to be their new goaltender coach.
A Windsor native, Aubry played for the Chatham MicMacs for a handful of games during the 1993-94 season and for the Maroons in the 1997-1998 season. Aubry also played in the former Western Junior B league with the Sarnia Steeplejacks.
After his junior career ended, Aubry played NCAA hockey with the Mercyhurst Lakers. He then played professional hockey for nine years in both North America and Europe for nine years.
After retiring from playing, Aubry coached goalies at Mercyhurst, Lake Superior State and Omaha. He has coached professionally in the Chicago Blackhawks organization from 2015 to 2023.
