EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The sixth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, forward Porter Martone, will play for Michigan State’s hockey team in 2025-26, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Martone, 18, was selected sixth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in this year’s NHL Draft after tallying 98 points in 57 games with the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads last season.

Martone will join fellow Flyers draft pick Shane Vansaghi on the Spartans after Philadelphia selected Vansaghi in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft following his freshman season at Michigan State.
