WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Hockey fans came together on Saturday for the Springfield Hockey Heritage Society’s Hockey Day in Springfield.
Hockey Day is an annual celebration of professional hockey in the Pioneer Valley with a history that goes back almost a century.
Players, fans, and various sports alum gathered in community in the Young Building at the Eastern States Exposition to mingle and have access to exclusive merchandise and raffles.
The Heritage Society also honored the Springfield Indians on the 50th anniversary of their Calder Cup victory, the ultimate prize in the American Hockey League.
