The Texas Rangers are trading for lefthanded reliever Danny Coulombe from the Minnesota Twins, per reports.

Coulombe, 35, is on a one year, $3 million deal with the Twins, and will be a free agent after the season. He has a 1.16 ERA and 1.96 FIP this year in 31 innings over 40 games, though with a 3.15 xERA, and has a 2.10 ERA and 2.71 FIP since the start of the 2022 season. Coulombe has been equally effective against both lefties and righties. He has allowed no home runs and just three extra base hits while facing 122 batters this season.

Coulombe with give the Rangers another lefthander out of the bullpen to go with Hoby Milner as a matchup guy, which would allow Robert Garcia to stay in his current closer role, while Jacob Latz would presumably continue as a long man or in a multi-inning role.

More details as they become available will be provided.
