But there are still some moves to be made, and it could see some big names being traded. One of those is Anaheim Ducks young center Mason McTavish, who remains a restricted free agent.
McTavish and the Ducks haven’t been able to come to terms on a new deal, and it has caused all sorts of trade rumors to fly around. Anaheim views McTavish very highly, and if the team does move him, it will be for a high asking price.
There have been a few teams linked to McTavish this summer, with the Ducks holding firm in their asking price. But three teams in particular seem to have a real interest in the young star.

According to NHL insider James Murphy, the Detroit Red Wings have shown serious interest in trading for McTavish. Additionally, the Montreal Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes have been keeping tabs on the entire situation.
Any of these three teams could make sense for McTavish, but it remains to be seen if the Ducks will indeed move him. The Red Wings, specifically, need a spark to help get them back to the postseason, and the two teams have already made a trade this summer.

McTavish scored 22 goals and had 30 assists over 76 games for the Ducks last season. Anaheim has wanted to see a little more from the young center, which has also led to trade talks.
Anaheim could also elect to hold onto McTavish into the season, and potentially discuss deals at the trade deadline. The Ducks have a lot of options with the young player, and due to his restricted status, the team holds a lot of the power.
