Vancouver Canucks Set To Be Give Major Opportunity to Former 20-Goal Scorer Under New Head Coach

The Vancouver Canucks are going to need a big bounce back season from a former 20+ goal scorer as they look to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs next April.
As would be expected during a difficult season, several members of the Vancouver Canucks had a down year, with some seeing a big drop in production, including Nils Hoglander, who went from 24 goals back in the 2023-24 campaign to just eight in 2024-25.
“We are very pleased that he showed interest and came back to his roots and inspired the younger generation.” André Önnerlöv, who is property manager at MalÃ¥ municipality, said about Hoglander’s contribution.
Vancouver Canucks need bounce back year from Nils Hoglander
If the Canucks are going to have any success this year, they’re going to need players like Nils Hoglander to step up and perform, with David Quadrelli of Canucks Army including him in his list of five Vancouver players that are facing pressure heading into the 2025-26 campaign.
“And so with Adam Foote now at the helm and a decent amount of opportunity to be found in the Canucks’ middle six forward group, Höglander enters 2025-26 with a good amount of pressure to live up to his new contract. After all, we know how quick this management group can be at moving out contracts they deem to be inefficient.” Quadrelli said.
One good thing about someone like Nils Hoglander is that he’s very versatile, as he has the ability, and talent, to play either a top-six role – perhaps even the top line, while also being an option for the bottom-six, which will make things a big easier on Adam Foote.
