With training camp just around the corner, we are previewing each player on the LA Kings roster. Up next: Jacob Moverare!
Jacob Moverare
Birthdate: August 31, 1998
Birthplace: Ostersund, Sweden
Height: 6’3
Weight: 209 lbs
Position: Defense
Shoots: Left
Draft: 4th round, 112th overall, 2016 NHL Entry Draft
2024-25 season
Jacob Moverare started the season with the Reign, but played more games with the Kings by the end of the season. After 11 games with the Reign, Moverare was called up to the Kings and stuck around with the big club for the rest of the season (not counting paper transactions). When slotted into the lineup, the left-handed defenseman served as the sixth or seventh defenseman and played the role well.
For the season, Moverare had eight points (1 G, 7 A) in 49 games with the Kings. He played an additional two playoff games, averaging less than three minutes of cie time.

2025-26 outlook
Moverare is entering the final year of his two-year deal, and while he won’t be a staple in the lineup every game, he’ll look to secure the seventh defenseman role for this upcoming season. That spot will eventually come down to him or Kyle Burroughs. With how Moverare has filled in as the seventh defenseman in limited playing time in years past, my vote would go to him to win that spot out of training camp.
