PLAINS TWP. — Gianna Gustinucci, Megan Giomboni and Kaytie Marx scored, as Wilkes-Barre Area knocked off Wyoming Seminary, 3-2, in Wyoming Valley Conference field hockey Friday afternoon.

Marx and Anna Vitali each added an assist.

Anna Rolland and Apollonia Bruno scored for Sem.

Hazleton Area 11, Nanticoke Area 1: At Hazleton Area, Bella Boyle scored nine goals Friday to lead the Cougars past the Trojanettes.

Boyle scored four goals in the second quarter, three in the third, and followed it up with back-to-back scores in the fourth.

Molly Novak scored Nanticoke’s lone goal off an assist from Madi Falkowski.

Girls soccer

Hanover Area 2, Pittston Area 1: At Hanover Area, the Hawkeyes scored two first-half goals in a win over Pittston Area on Friday.

Aibreann Mullin and Lainey Carmelo had the two Hanover Area goals as Brooke Myzick and Chloe Griffith added the assists.

Kelcey Podwika had the lone Patriot goal off a corner.

Corchado scored two goals in the first half, and followed it up with two in the second.

Emily Werner had the lone Royal goal off an assist from Elyse Kunec.

Boys soccer

North Pocono 2, Wilkes-Barre Area 1: At North Pocono, Rocco Rava scored two goals to pace the Trojans to the nonleague win.

For the Wolfpack, Johnny Mendola had the lone goal off an assist from Leandro Espinoza.

Pittston Area 155, Crestwood 166: At Fox Hill, Patrick Ruane and Noah Gruber each carded even-par 35s to pace the Patriots to the victory.

Andrew Nocito fired a 42 for Pittston, while Gianna Bartorillo ended with a 43.

For Crestwood, Brady Johnson shot a 1-over 36.

For Nanticoke Area, Treyton Mishanski carded a 50.

Dallas 5, Wyoming Valley West 0: At Dallas, the Mountaineers swept the doubles en route to a 5-0 win in league play.

Catlin Finn, Mahi Dohl and Juliana Konnick dropped just one game combined in straight-set wins.

Julia Gilchist and Elizabeth Rich were singles winners, while the duo of Maryn Cosgrove and Julianna O’Hop were victorious.

Molly Kratz and Sarah Willison were the other singles winners.

Girls volleyball

MMI Prep 3, Mid Valley 1: At MMI on Thursday, Cassidy McDermott had 15 kills and 18 points to pace the Preppers to a four-set win, 25-15, 18-25, 25-11, 25-19.

Arushi Solgama added 12 assists and 15 points, and Shreeya Parikh also had 12 assists and 15 points.

Olivia Parry led the Spartanettes with 10 assists and five kills, Aubrey Comstock had 11 kills and Krista Demboski contributed eight blocks.
