Mitch Marner‘s recent comments have caused chaos on social media for Maple Leafs fans, and now Jay Rosehill has called him out for it as well.
After months of speculation, Mitch Marner departed the Toronto Maple Leafs this off-season, with the team working out a sign-and-trade to send him West to the Vegas Golden Knights.
This comes after major criticism’s over his performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with many Maple Leafs fans happy to see him go after he and the rest of the Core Four underperformed over the past few years.
Jay Rosehill Calls Out Marner’s Comments on Needing Security
In a recent interview, Marner opened up on security concerns he had about his family in Toronto, with fans threatening him following the loss, something that many around the league took rather seriously.
“Having full-time security, pretty much, at your house for two weeks after the playoffs just to make sure no one’s coming to your house”
For Maple Leafs fans however, it was another opportunity to take a shot at Marner, with the claim that he is exaggerating exactly what happened, including former Leaf Jay Rosehill, who swiftly called out Marner on social media.

This hostility shouldn’t come as much surprise however, as this is what Leafs fans are known for around the league, but it appears they may have taken it to another level if Marner’s comments were correct.
Ultimately though, this was just more ammo for those fans that are furious over Marner’s play and his departure to hate on him, and when the Golden Knights visit Toronto later in the year, that’s likely to be a game with plenty of hostility involved.
