The NHL has released its national TV schedule, and the San Jose Sharks will once again have their opening night game broadcast on ESPN+.
This marks the second consecutive season that local broadcast partner NBC Sports California won’t have the game. Local residents will need an ESPN+ subscription to watch the game.
Last season, opening night marked Macklin Celebrini’s NHL debut, which was a significant milestone. This year, Celebrini has even more hype surrounding him, and the matchup is against the Sharks’ biggest rivals, the Vegas Golden Knights.
That matchup will also be Mitch Marner’s debut with the Golden Knights.

The Sharks will have six nationally televised games in 25-26, the same as last season. The difference between last season and now is that the San Jose Sharks will have one game broadcast on TNT.
The TNT game will be on April 8th against the Edmonton Oilers. The San Jose Sharks announced a game-time change for that game. Initially scheduled for 7:30 p.m., the game was moved up 30 minutes to 7 p.m.
With that change, only one home Sharks game remains at 7:30 p.m. or later. Like TNT, that game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. On Oct. 28th, the Sharks host the Los Angeles Kings at 8 p.m.
