First Injury of the Season Hits Montreal Canadiens’ Rising Star

Montreal Canadiens fans indeed have their first injury to watch.
I have a feeling this one will be closely monitored over the coming months, but here we are: young forward Alexander Zharovsky is injured. It’s obviously never ideal when a top Canadiens prospect goes down (just ask David Reinbacher), so this will be something to keep an eye on.
Let’s hope it’s not too serious, but for now, the first bits of information available aren’t too concerning.
Montreal Canadiens prospect Alexander Zharovsky is injured
It’s unfortunate, because he was already on a great run and everything was lining up for him to have a strong start to the KHL season.
As TVA Sports reports, Zharovsky will miss the start of the season, and some mention “a few games,” but the exact nature of his injury is still unknown.
Zharovsky is therefore not in his team’s lineup:
His club is actually facing that of another intriguing Canadiens prospect (Bogdan Konyushkov).
Alexander Zharovsky, 18 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 163-pound forward who was drafted 34th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2025.
Let’s remember, he possibly could have been the team’s pick at 16th or 17th overall, so this looks like an excellent selection!
Zharovsky collected 1 point in seven KHL playoff games last year, after recording 50 points in 45 games in the MHL.
