As the 2025-26 NHL season approaches, the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken completed a swap of minor-league prospects.
The Flyers sent Jon-Randall Avon to the Kraken in exchange for Tucker Robertson. The pair were teammates on the Peterborough Petes of the OHL between 2019-23.

Robertson dressed for 38 games for the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds last season, tallying four goals and five assists. He fits the mold of a two-way forward with energetic legs.
Over 77 career AHL games, the 22-year-old center has accumulated 10 games and nine assists. The former 123rd overall draft pick failed to register a point in four career playoff games for Coachella. He is entering the final year of his contract that carries a minor-league salary of $82,500 and rises to $950,000 should he reach the NHL.

Avon skated for 60 games, recording seven goals and 10 assists for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL in 2024-25. During his 125-game stint with the Phantoms, Avon collected 16 goals and 19 assists.
The 22-year-old center went undrafted – though he impressed the Flyers enough to earn an entry-level contract. He is a fast skater with some playmaking upside. His AHL contract is $80,000 which escalates to $800,000 should he make an NHL roster.
Neither player has cracked the NHL, making this trade an intriguing piece of business. Perhaps the change of scenery and new linemates will allow these former teammates to harness their full potential.
