A new but familiar face is now at the top of the Central Canada Hockey League.
Jesse Winchester has been appointed league commissioner and brings with him a lengthy resume that includes three seasons playing with Cornwall Colts from 2001 to 2004.
After playing university hockey and going on to play for the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League, Winchester was behind the bench of the Brockville Braves for two seasons from 2017 to 2019 taking home consecutive coach of the year awards.
He tells Moose FM that he was all ears when the league approached him about the position and he’s ready to have his boots on the ground.
“I’ll be out in the rinks and then connecting with the other leagues around Canada and getting a sense of the overall junior hockey landscape.”
The CCHL is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League and Hockey Canada.
