Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson shared a very encouraging update with reporters at the team’s annual charity golf tournament on Monday morning.Injuries, inconsistent and drama are three words that can be used to described Elias Pettersson’s 2024-25 season, but the Sundsvall, Sweden native says he’s out for revenge, which should put the league on notice that he’s ready to return to his old form, especially now that he’s at full health.
“I haven’t thought about it, but for myself it’s revenge. I’m not happy with last season. I’m trying to lead by example. But I know that I can become a better leader, in that aspect. I’m trying my best, but also trying to get better.” Pettersson said.
Now that the Sundsvall, Sweden native is back in Vancouver, along with his Canucks teammates, Pettersson had a very encouraging update regarding how he’s feeling and how his training went this summer.

On Monday, the Vancouver Canucks held their annual charity golf tournament at Northview Golf & Country Club where some of the players took the time to speak with reporters about their summer and gave their thoughts about the upcoming season.

“Elias Pettersson (the forward), speaking ahead of the Jake Milford this morning in Surrey, says he put on 6 kilos in the summer and is feeling confident heading into the season.” Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet said on X.
Pettersson told reporters on Monday that his goal was to add some muscle over the summer and it certainly appears that he was able to do that, adding that the is confident he’ll bounce back and is ready to be himself on the ice once again.
“Obviously, I feel good. It’s been a long summer, so I just tried to add some muscles and be ready to be myself again out there. And I feel confidence that I will. I had a long summer of training, so it’s been good.” Pettersson said.
With training camp set to get underway next Thursday, and exhibition games shortly thereafter, Vancouver Canucks fans won’t have to wait long to see how Elias Pettersson looks on the ice and if he’s able to show signs in the preseason that he will indeed bounce back this year.
