Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson shared recently how he truly feels about Brock Boeser re-signing with the club back on the opening day of free agency.

At the conclusion of Vancouver’s 2024-25 season, all signs pointed to Brock Boeser hitting the free agent market and leaving the Canucks organization, something that management believed could’ve been the case, up until Canada Day.

“Brock has been a huge part of our organization, and we are extremely happy to have him back in the fold. He has scored some big goals for our hockey club and has established himself as a very dangerous offensive player. Brock is a leader and culture setter in our locker room, and we’re confident he will continue to play an important role for our team moving forward doing great work both on and off the ice.” Allvin said.

Monday marked the unofficial end to the Vancouver Canucks’ offseason, with players gathering at Northview Golf & Country Club for the Jake Milford Charity Golf Tournament, with a handful of them speaking to reporters before teeing off.

Pettersson said that he wasn’t really sure what was going to happen with Brock Boeser and if he was going to join another team or re-sign, and as soon as the new contract was announced, he sent him a text with just two words – Thank You.

The 26-year-old added that him and Boeser have become very close friends since entering the National Hockey League and he was happy to see that the Burnsville, Minnesota native decided to stick around on a long-term basis, with both of them set to become UFAs in the summer of 2032.

“I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, so once [Boeser] signed I just texted him ‘thank you’. So that was good. He’s been here all my years when I’ve been here and he’s one of my closest guys on the team. So I was really happy to see him sign here.” Pettersson.

Throughout their time in Vancouver, the duo have been on the same line for countless games and have connected for a number of goals, something the team is hoping for a lot more of that this coming season, which would go a long way in helping the club return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
